Dominican Amber stone, raw, full of Inclusions

Description

This is a  252.2 gr. or 1,261 carats. Dominican Amber, guaranteed to be  natural, untreated. Full of Inclusions, organic matter that could be a lot of insects or moss, who knows what you will find.
This is a piece that I picked up at the gemstone show last year. The Mud was still wet. I am able to see a lot of different Inclusions in the window of the piece. The largest portion is not going to reveal it's secrets until someone slowly sands off the  layers until the amber is clear and ready to candle. Dominican amber is from the extinct hymenaea protera tree, probably the source of most amber. It differentiates itself from Baltic amber by being almost always transparent. Dominican amber has the highest number of fossil Inclusions than any other type of amber, and has enabled scientists to piece together a good idea of the ecosystem of a long lost tropical forest. Image what may be in this very large, and very included Dominican amber.  This one is big enough to have a lizard, mantis, scorpion,  who knows..I  purchased 8 of these larger pieces, I sold one that is very similar in size and weight to this one and the person who purchased it found hundreds of insects, including a very nice praying mantis looking bug and four small feathers. I put had asked for 0, and the man couldn't get his wallet out fast enough. After he sanded and candle it ( shining a bright light around the amber while looking through a good magnifying glass). he brought all of the pieces that he had cut and shaped over to gloat about how much money he was going to get for the unique pieces that he had. I'm not going to sell the other large pieces that I have, but watch my sales, I'll be selling all of my Silversmith tools, including a gemstone saw,perfect to cut anything but metal.
